Maternity insurance covers any delivery or pregnancy-related expenditures up to a certain maximum throughout the policy period. Pre and post-natal expenditures, as well as newborn infant expenses, are covered by certain insurance companies under a maternity insurance policy.

Some companies provide maternity insurance to their female employees in addition to the greatest health insurance coverage. In addition, in the majority of corporate group plans, maternity is a rider (added benefit) with a sub-limit of Rs. 50,000.

Pre and post-hospitalization are some of the advantages of maternity insurance, with pre-hospitalization expenditures covered up to 30 days before the date of admission. Nursing and room costs, surgeon fees, doctor consultation, and anaesthetist consultation are all reimbursed expenses.

It is important to have a complete grasp of the includes and limitations in maternity insurance in order to make sensible financial decisions and make the best use of the insurance plan.
