The Reserve Bank of India governs the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), which designed the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), which is built on the IMPS framework and allows you to transfer or send funds between any two bank accounts in real-time. According to NPCI, the current top limit per UPI transaction is Rs. 1 lakh. A user can send up to Rs 40,000 per transaction and up to Rs 40,000 per day for one bank account. According to the NPCI’s official website, this limit is available per bank account linked to BHIM.

Limits

According to Google Pay’s support page, a user may approach a daily limit if:

  1. They attempt to send more than 100,000 across all UPI apps in a single day.
  2. They attempt to send money more than ten times in a single day using all UPI apps.
  3. Someone is asked for more than 2,000.

However, restrictions for Google Pay, UPI, the user’s bank, and Google may differ.

The user will have the following choices for resolving these issues:

  1. I’m going to wait until the next day to send additional money.
  2. Requesting a lower sum

Here are some additional reasons why the payment may not be processed:

Bank restrictions

If your daily transactions are less than the UPI limit and you’re still having problems, consider another bank account.

Your bank may impose limits on the amount you can send or receive. For further information, contact your bank.

Other restrictions

Some transactions may be marked for further investigation to prevent fraud. If you’re having problems completing a transaction and don’t believe you’ve reached a limit, contact Google Pay support for assistance.

Furthermore, if a user attempts to send or receive less than 1, the transaction will fail and an error message will be displayed.
